From the archive. A study in the bark series whilst on a poodlewalk in the local Waitpinga bushland during the winter months of 2025. Mid-winter is when the light is there is soft (not harsh and contrasty) in southern South Australia. This small patch of bushland is surround ed on all sides by agricultural fields for grazing and cropping. The natural environment is first experienced as it is by the farmer.
It was a particular moment: one when afternoon light when the cloud cover broke and the sun's rays briefly filtered through the bushland. It is the 'not' of technological ordering and enframing of human beings to technological being that sees nature as a standing reserve that is that calculable and exploitative.
